According to an incident in the USA, users who lose their smartphones are all directed to the same address. Users who think their devices are at this address encounter an unexpected situation. Here is the strange error in the Find My iPhone app.
Nobody is spared from the trouble caused by the Find My iPhone glitch
The Find My iPhone glitch that occurred for a homeowner in Texas has become one of the family’s biggest problems. For months, Apple has been directing users who lost their smartphones and tablets to Scott Schuster’s house. Schuster, who says dozens of people have come to his house for a few months, claimed that he couldn’t get help from Apple.
For those who don’t know, Apple’s Find My iPhone app shows the location of the phone by scanning through GPS. However, it has been reported that due to a software issue, some devices always appear to be at the same wrong address. Schuster said Apple Support did nothing about the issue.
Strangers knocking on door
Scott Schuster, speaking to local media, shared that he has experienced quite strange moments in recent months. Users who knock on the door thinking their iPhones and iPads are in this house assume their devices have been stolen. He even mentioned that some people came with the police because of this.
The worried father, who has two children aged 7 and 9, said the situation could pose a danger. “That’s my biggest concern. Someone could potentially come to the house with a weapon,” he said.
Schuster, a software engineer, attempted to resolve the situation, including submitting an official report to Apple. Despite his efforts, he reported that nothing was done to fix the error and people continued to show up at his door.
